The professionals at SafeTech Consultants know that in the world of industrial and environmental safety, people’s lives, not just livelihoods, depend on the workplace advice provided. That’s why we approach our consultation role with a key goal in mind: committing ourselves to the safety of the people in your company. SafeTech Consultants, Inc. was founded in 1990 with a distinct client-based philosophy that carries over into every aspect of our client work.

We are dedicated to offering consulting services that are high quality, practical, and ethical. Our goal is to assist clients in developing best practices that go beyond regulatory compliance and ultimately provide workers with the knowledge and systemic structure needed to safely perform their job functions.

Deborah R. Roy MPH, RN, COHN-S, CIT, CSP is President/Owner of SafeTech Consultants, Inc. She has more than 35 years of consulting in global safety and health management systems, development of strategies to assess and control risks such as serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs) and COVID-19, along with influencing the evolution of safety and health programing towards Total Worker Health®. As a corporate executive at L.L.Bean for 12 years, Deborah’s innovative approach to safety resulted in the implementation of safety management systems at seven sites in seven years, significantly improving injury rates and reducing costs. She was honored as an American Society of Safety Professional (ASSP) Fellow in 2018 for her significant contributions to the occupational safety and health profession and was previously inducted as a Fellow by the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses.  Deborah received her Master of Public Health degree (MPH) in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

 As a long-standing active professional member of ASSP, Deborah began serving as a Board member in 2015 and then President of the Society 2020 to 2021. She presented COVID-19 safety education virtually to Occupational Safety and Health professionals around the globe during the ongoing pandemic.  Deborah also presented multiple keynotes on pandemic response and the resulting leadership opportunities, the evolution of the OSH profession, and reducing organizational risk.  The author of book chapters and several professional articles in peer-reviewed journals, she has won awards for her technical writing. Deborah travels extensively, speaking to convention-sized audiences and delivering inspiring keynote addresses.
